Paste a public or open Are.na channel URL that has text blocks of SAN chess notation to view those moves on a chessboard. Non-SAN chess notation messages or other content will not be included. Invalid moves are flagged. Multiple users may play either side of a game.
What is Correspondence Chess?
Correspondence Chess is the practice of playing chess, move by move, through a communication medium (like the mail) allowing a game to occur over a great distance of time and space. It is a centuries old practice, and has included games played via homing pigeon, postcard, telephone, fax machine, online message board, email, text message, and more. These games have spanned borders and intractable geopolitical disputes, paced over decades, and even been conducted between astronauts in orbit and the Earth.
What is Are.na?
Are.na is notoriously hard to explain ("how do you describe Are.na at a party?"), but it is a social network and community tool for collecting, researching, and sharing online. Users can collaborate on open channels and start channels together (meaning the platform is sometimes used for what might be called correspondence).
